MASTER LUIS E. UCELO

    Mr. Luis Ucelo was born in March 1979, at his birth, his father and Master Miguel Ucelo, was already a black belt and owner of a Karate School. With the objective of having always personal supervision over his son, GMaster Ucelo took him to the Karate School with him where he grew inside the Do-Jang seeing his father kick, punch and teach Martial Arts.

    Master Ucelo had great experience at his short age, seeing his father so dedicated was and is for him the most influential model. He has also had the opportunity to to train under and with famous martial artists and Hollywood celebrities.

    In 1993, Master Ucelo obtained his black belt and since then he started developing his teaching abilities, following his father/Masters' footsteps.

    Master Ucelo has an extensive competition background winning various awards, medals and trophies through out the years. He always loved competing in Traditional Forms, Sparring and Weapon Forms. He now holds big pride in helping his students achieve their own victories, both in life as well as in the ring.

    Master Ucelo opened the Ucelo Phoenix location in September of 2003, and is continuing to follow his dream and passion of teaching martial arts  and keeping the UCELO name alive and strong.

   In 2006, Master Ucelo obtained his 4^th. Dan in Tae Kwon Do and  4^th. Dan in Hapkido, is also a Black belt in Karate Do and Kobudo, and also trains in Judo and Jiu Jitsu .

Master ABEL UCELO


       Second Son of GM Ucelo, a 4th Dan in Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Hapkido,a bacheroltes in Pysocology is a great asset to our programs. Master Abel is kind and patient but firm in his apporach to teaching and learning the martial arts. He is a blend of old school traditional and modern training instructor. 

Graduado Leon


Leon is our Capoeira Instructor now under Uncao Capoeira, he holds the corda of Graduado  and is a important pioneer in the development of Capoeira in the Valley, know from east to west  Phoenix is his home and Ucelo Martial Arts is proud to say this is where he teaches...




 
Assistant Instructors

Mr. Aaron Peña

     Mr. Peña brung a friend to our school and ended up staying himself this back in 2003, now he is a integral part of our school helping Master Ucelo  sharing his knowledge with our students. Mr. Peña is very humble and accessable person. 

Mr. Peña has won various number of tournaments both in forms and sparring and  has represented our school in team sparring in the World United Martial Arts  tournaments in Colorado, California and Arizona. Mr.  Peña earned his Black belt in  2008. 

Mr. Lisvany Varens

   
       Mr. Varens began his training at our school back in 2005, Mr. Varens is a intense  practitioner, who likes to get the best out of all our students, and is very strong in the  idea of keeping alive the traditional part of the martial arts by incorporating in his class  aspects like discipline and respect. Mr. Varens also has repensented our school in  various tournaments and has won in different levels and arts such as Karate, Tae Kwon  Do and Judo and has been a black belt since 2010.
